The Naarajoki river, that starts from Naarajärvi and runs after about 55 km (mostly river and few lakes) into lake Kyyvesi, was a vital trade route since the stone age. The start of the route begins at a ancient settlement ground in Naarajoki and continues through prestige Finnish nature. Here you can spot beaver, water fowl and if you get lucky you see moose. Total lenght of the tour is about 120 km.

Majavareitti (Etelä-Savo, East Finland)

23 km – 100 km, 1- 3 days (from Haapajärvi to Virtasalmi or to lake Saimaa)

The starting point for the route is lake Haapajärvi, from where it continues (about 4.5 km) to the river Välijoki. During the Haapajärvi crossing, there are about 40 islands in the route, which make the lake landscape varied and demanding. The River Flow (1.2 km) is a calm river, about 0.2 m high. The following Luomasenpuro river is the best residential area of ​​beavers, where this tour gets it name from (Beaverroute).

Oravareitti (Etelä-Savo, East Finland)

57 km,1-5 days (Juva to Sulkava)

The Squirrel Route is the first biologically studied Finnish aquatic nature trail marked with information boards, makes it perfect for a family tour. Along the route are 21 checkpoints that are visible to the canoe by hand and describing the natural area. On the way there are a wide variety of lakes, rivers and rapids. The landscape varies greatly along the route from lush minimalistic tracks to harsh, rugged terrain.

Suihkolanjoki (Etelä-Savo, East Finland)

25 km – 100 km, 2-4 days* (Jäppilä to Lake Saimaa)

The Suihkolanjoki tour starts in the Syvänsi lake that is up to 50 m deep. The crystal clear stream flows through a very beautiful landscape with rocky shores and little peaks. On the river bed you can see lots of different fish and the current is sometimes really strong. Especially when entering the area of lake Sysmä the river is picking up. Lake Sysmä has beautiful islands that want to be explored.

Koitajoki (Karjala, East Finland)

60 km, 2-4 days* (Ilomantsi to Hiiskoski or Joensuu)

Koitajoki is about remote as it gets – the area was since 2016 restricted for moose hunting due to the vital population of brown bear and wolfs. The untouched wilderness of the Koitajoki nature reserve is just as beautiful as wild.

Ulpukkareitti (Enonkoski, East Finland)

37km, 1-4 days* (Savonlinna to Enonkoski)

The Ulpukkatour is a canoeing route that runs through 14 different lakes or ponds including some rivers and streams. The route in total is about 37 kilometers long. There is plenty of water on the route and the scenic landscape provides unforgettable nature experiences for a paddle. The water flows north, unlike the Finnish waterways in general. If you want to paddle further, you can continue your journey to Kolovesi National Park.

The route has been used for a long time as trade route. Many of the waters, beaches and places on the route have been named after past events.

Watershed trails tour (Etelä-Savo, East Finland)

5-10 km (Pieksämäki, Watershed trails)

We will hike into the Finnish forest and will cross frozen lakes. The target is a shelter place in the middle of the watershed trails – where we have a wilderness lunch and the chance to do ice fishing and will maybe catch fish. As option we can use the local Tahilampi lake where we can catch salmon.

The rapids are classified according to an international difficulty level table, so each can choose their water according to their own knowledge and experience. From big challenges for daredevil paddlers to the gentle flowing and calm river everything is available. Ask us for a tailored offer.

Many of the interesting canoe tours combine lakes and rivers and are also suitable for paddling with the whole family. Along the paddle tours there are always public rest areas with well-equipped fireplaces and windbreak. These are maintained by the state and are sometimes also provided with a segregation of waste. If you like, you can also set up your campsite on one of the inviting sandy beaches.
